There are two good reasons to drive over 20 miles up a twisty mountain road in the middle of summer’s blazing heat. One is because you like driving up twisty mountain roads. The other reason is for food.
I’ve had an on-again off-again love relationship with Mount Wilson for quite a few years, but it wasn’t until this year that I discovered the restaurant/bar further along Angeles Crest.
This time around, it was just me, Paul, and Tim. Thought there would be more of us coming, but eh — go figure.
Damn, I really ought to paint those rear wheels… ahh… never-ending work.
Such a wide open parking lot tempts me so… but I resist. Hooliganism is for going, not coming.
The slow patrol, I mean motorcycle enthusiasts are always here in full force. 😉
And so, here’s what we came for. Paul stares at his ranch dressing wondering if it’s really ranch. If you’re ever up Angeles Crest and get hungry, go to Newcomb’s Ranch. The place has great food, and they serve beer (I don’t know… go figure…).
